Sorry for the down time. lately i just havent felt like writing a blog. So today was New Mexico State Cyclocross Championships and things went great. The course was phenomenal, which i would hope since i woke up at 4:30 to set it up, the turnout was good and we even had a catering company provide food to add to the festivities. In addition after the race we had not one but two tailgate parties in which people were able to drink beer/beverage of choice and chit chat about cross and what a crazy success it was this year. Hopefully whoever takes it over next year can continue the tradition.

This was my last race before i roll out of town Wednesday for nationals in Providence. After struggling for 20 minutes, i got warmed up and managed to stay pretty smooth and fluid. The good news i guess is that my fitness has come so far in one season that i started out as a mediocre racer who never needed a warmup to an elite racer who needs a long warmup. Its funny how the more fit you are the longer warmup you need. The training has come around perfectly and it appears that i will be at my peak on the day of nationals- how's that for planning? I managed to roll to a ninth place finish today in the elite race, so thats not bad. Taylor Lane nearly lapped the field again, which is good for him but bad for me as i will be racing him at Nationals. I am leaving Albuquerque early on Wednesday for a few days to adjust to sea level before i have to race. If nothing else both J and I will be looking good as we are bringing some serious equipment with us. Along for the ride come 3 sweet KHS cross bikes, all identical, 2 sets of Spinergy deep carbon wheels, a set of Easton vista SL wheels and a set of box rim tubies for the really nasty stuff. With that we should have just about all the bases covered and the right tires for any condition. Look for Clarissa's name on the top of the list as she should have a good race. if nothing else, she will learn what nationals is like so she won't freak out next year when she hits in the big Kansas City. Thats it guys, I'll try to keep you posted.
